QR codes are popping up all over! Besides being popular during the 2022 Super Bowl, QR codes are frequently used in the real-world. Restaurants have been using QR codes to access a digital menu since the COVID-19 pandemic began to help minimize paper copies being handled by patrons. Businesses use QR codes to put contact information in one spot. In my own classroom, I printed QR codes and placed around the room for Back to School Night so parents could access my syllabus, website, a Google Form with questions about their student, and essential information for my class. If you want to look at more uses for QR codes, Smart Insights wrote an article on 8 uses of QR codes for a measurable marketing campaign.
There are several QR generators you could use to create your own QR code. I personally prefer using bitly.com as it not only can create QR codes, BUT it can also shorten URLs.
STEP 1: Access bitly.com and sign in using your Google account.

STEP 2: Click on CREATE LINK to change the long URL to a shortened URL.

STEP 3: Enter the long URL in the box on the right hand side of the screen. Then click on the orange create button at the bottom.

STEP 4: Customize your link with a title and unique back half (the part after bit.ly). Then click the QR Code button.

STEP 5: Edit the QR Code color to go with your branding colors. Then download the PNG file. This will save on your computer to apply to social media posts, flyers, etc.
