Blogging Reflection

How would you use a blog in your learning environment?

In my own learning environment, I believe blogging would be helpful in my new role as an instructional coach. When I first became an instructional coach, I researched heavily on what worked for other instructional coaches and other resources I could get my hands on. In fact, my Amazon cart looked like a small library of one instructional coaching book after another. A blog on my life as an instructional coach and strategies for new teachers or new coaches would be a great resource for others. I could utilize the blog as a way for others to see ways to enhance their own classroom or help others in their classroom.

What did you learn about yourself while blogging the past eight weeks?

While it was a bit difficult blogging one week after the next and committing to the time to blog, I found it helped me reflect more in my role as a teacher. Blogging also helped me reflect and write down my feelings as I transitioned into the role of instructional coach. It allowed me to write out my feelings to use for future lessons or topics to incorporate in other classrooms. I think my whole idea was creating perfection for others to see, when in fact it should have been more about allowing myself to be vulnerable and just write. I could see myself using blogging in the future to write out my feelings or help reflect more in my personal and professional life.
